2018 Street Cleaning Program

On Monday, April 2, 2018, the Department of Public Works will begin their annual street cleaning operations.  This work will move throughout the City during the next five weeks.  People who park on the street should watch for street signs and check on their cars daily from April 2nd - April 30th.  If you will be out of town during this time, please make off-street parking arrangements for your vehicle.  People in need of long term parking arrangements can call the City Chamberlain's Office at (607) 274-6580 to inquire about the availability of long-term parking permits in the parking garages.

Streets will be posted as "No Parking Zones" 24-hours in advance of the cleaning.  All vehicles remaining on the street after 7:00 a.m. will be ticketed and towed at the owner's expense.  The standard towing rate in the City of Ithaca is $100 plus sales tax, and storage fees are $25 per day if the vehicle is not picked up within 24 hours.

The full schedule of the street cleaning program can be found at the link below.

Sign up for Swift911 and subscribe to the City's Street Cleaning list to receive daily reminders of the streets being cleaned that day.  Unfortunately, short messages will need to be sent to all subscribers on the street cleaning list during the month of April as many non-residents also park on city streets and we really do no want to ticket and tow vehicles!

Please note: all work is weather dependent and may be re-scheduled in case of inclement weather.  Questions or concerns about this program can be forwarded to the Streets and Facilities Office at 272-1718.
