Construction Update: East Buffalo Street Pavement Work

PROJECT LOCATION: East Buffalo Street between North Aurora Street and Eddy Street

PROJECT START DATE: Monday June 25, 2018

PROJECT DESCRIPTION AND GOAL: Paving and sidewalk work to replace the temporary pavement installed during 2017 utility work.

LOCAL IMPACTS: During active work traffic will be reduced to a single, two- way travel lane controlled by flaggers. Construction operations will occupy some parking spaces in the active work zone.

Construction operations will begin at Aurora Street and progress to Eddy Street. Roadway work will begin with milling, paving will follow. When paving is complete, both travel lanes will be open.

Motorists should expect minor delays . Please use caution while traveling in the work zone, and be considerate of pedestrians, cyclists, and construction crew.

DETOURS IN PLACE: No detours in place at this time. Brief detours may be necessary during intersection work. Pedestrians will be directed to the opposite side of the street while sidewalk is under construction.

PROJECT COMPLETION DATE: Roadway work is scheduled to be completed July 12, 2018. At this time regular two-lane traffic will be restored. Sidewalk repairs will continue, with an estimated completion date of August 17, 2018.
