Call for Proposals for Mural and Street Art Program

Public Art_Banner-04

The City's Community Life Commission is excited to announce a call for proposals for the City's Mural and Street Art Program.

Successful proposals will demonstrate positive use of color, imagery, a sense of community, good will, and be thoughtful of the community in which they are placed. Since physical dimensions vary by site, artists must specify their preferred location and the dimensions of finished work in their proposal. An artist or collaborative group may submit more than one proposal; however no more than one proposal will be chosen per artist. Selected artists must fund their mural installation; The City will support selected artists in applications to grant programs or other outside funding.

There are two upcoming application rounds for the 2019 Mural and Street Art Program.  Complete submissions are due by either February 15, 2019 (first deadline), or May 15, 2019 (second deadline).  For more information about the project and submission instructions, please review the Request for Proposals – City Mural Program, available here.

Please share this information with all who may be interested.  If you have any questions about the project or how to submit a proposal, please feel free to contact  Alexander Phillips Planner, City of Ithaca Department of Planning, Building, Zoning, & Economic Development  aphillips@cityofithaca.org
