On Monday, April 1, 2019, the Department of Public Works will begin street cleaning operations. Residents who park on the street should watch for street signs and check on their cars daily from April 1st - April 30, 2019. If you will be away during this time, please make alternate parking arrangements for your vehicle. Streets will be posted as "No Parking Zones" 24-hours in advance of the cleaning. The posted signs are intended for the entire block, so please do not think you are safe by parking in between them. All vehicles that remain on the street after the posted time will be ticketed and towed at the owner's expense.
The city utilizes its alert system- Swift911, to notify residents of the streets to be cleaned. We urge you to be sure that you are subscribed to the “Street Cleaning” notification list on Swift911, so that we may continue to remind you to monitor your street parking, ensuring that you avoid a costly ticket & tow. Sign up, or sign in to Swift911 and be sure to add “Street Cleaning” to your subscriptions. If you would like assistance, have questions about Swift911, or would like to verify your subscriptions, please do not hesitate to contact City of Ithaca Public Information Specialist, Melody Faraday firstname.lastname@example.org (607) 274-6571.Street cleaning reminders will also be posted on the city’s social media accounts.
