Free Childcare at City Meetings

Effectively immediately, the City of Ithaca, in partnership with GIAC and the My Brother's Keeper Program, will be offering free childcare from 6pm- 8pm at the following meetings:

  • Common Council - 1st Wednesday of Each Month
  • City Commissions - 1st through 4th Monday of Each Month
1st Monday- Public Safety & Information
2nd Monday- Parks, Recreation & Natural Resources
              3rd Monday- Community Life
4th Monday- Mobility, Accessibility & Transportation

All meetings run from 6:00- 8:00 pm and are held in Common Council Chambers, 3rd Floor, City Hall at 108 East Green Street.

Come to City Hall for any (or all!) of the above meetings, bring your child(ren) to the 2nd Floor Conference Room & sign in.  Your children will be cared for by staff from GIAC and the "My Brother's Keeper Ithaca" program. Children must be at least 3 years old and potty trained, snacks and activities will be provided. Caretakers must stay in City Hall and are required to pick up their children by 8:15pm, or at the close of the meeting (which ever comes first). We ask that you provide a contact number so that staff may reach you while your children are in their care.

Any questions can be directed to Harmony Malone of GIAC (607) 272-3622
