PROJECT NAME: Seneca Street Garage Inspections
PROJECT LOCATION: Seneca Street Garage, 202 East Seneca Street
PROJECT START DATE: Thursday, June 6, 2019
PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The City’s consultant will be inspecting portions of the Seneca Street garage. One of the ways this will be accomplished will be by using industrial rope access techniques on the outside of the garage to allow hands on access and close visual inspection. This will look like people rappelling from the garage on the north and south sides of the garage at various times.
LOCAL IMPACTS: A number of parking spaces of the top deck of the garage will be closed to the public in order to allow for the inspection set up. Streets and sidewalks below will remain open, however, some rolling scaffolding will be placed over sidewalk under the work. The TCAT bus stop should remain open with no impact. The Seneca Street garage vehicular entrance/exit will be closed for a short duration (likely a few hours), but will be open otherwise. The Tioga Street entrance/exit will remain open the whole time.
DETOURS IN PLACE: No detours are required for this work
PARKING RESTRICTIONS: As noted above, some parking spaces will be taken out of service on the top deck of the garage during the inspection times. The rest of the garage will not be affected. There will be a time on June 6th and 7th, when portions of the Town of Ithaca’s parking lot may be affected, but this area is not otherwise open to the public and this work is being coordinated directly with the Town.
SCHEDULED COMPLETION DATE: Friday, June 21, 2019 (though there may be days with no work schedule in between start and finish).
