Emergency Notifications
Tompkins County SIREN is the official emergency notification system used by the City of Ithaca to communicate with community residents during emergencies, replacing the Swift911™ mass notification system. TC SIREN or Tompkins County Safety & Incident Real-Time Emergency Notifications, is a free service that allows individuals to receive alerts sent from local authorities to stay informed on potentially hazardous situations involving weather, traffic, and other emergencies.
The City of Ithaca also has lists designed to keep our citizens up-to-date on daily operations. Please consider subscribing to these following lists:

- Odd/Even Parking Notifications

- Water Notifications
- Street Cleaning Notifications
- Potential Ice Jams
- Activation of Emergency Snow Routes
SIREN allows residents to receive alerts via phone, text, and email, and answer poll questions that will give local officials critical information during emergency situations.
You may have previously signed up for Swift911. Your information was migrated to this new system so you would not miss alerts and notifications during the transition period. However if you did not create a SIREN account/profile by December 31, 2022 you are no longer in the system. Please sign up at the link above, select your notification preferences, and how you wish to receive alerts (voice, text, email)
