Aurora Street "Streatery" to Return for 2021 Outdoor Dining Season
Beginning Thursday, April 1, 2021, the City of Ithaca will be closing the 100 block of N Aurora Street (between E State Street and E Seneca Street) to vehicular traffic, to accommodate The Aurora Street "Streatery".
The closure will enable restaurants on the 100 block of Aurora Street to expand their outdoor seating areas for another outdoor dining season.
During the closure, an ADA accessible pedestrian path will be maintained in the street between E State Street and E Seneca Street, with access ramps available to gain access from the street to the raised sidewalk area.
Northbound traffic on N Aurora Street will be rerouted to E State Street, Seneca Way and E Seneca Street. Westbound traffic on E State Street will be rerouted to E Seneca Street. Paid parking will be temporarily suspended in front of 211-215 E Seneca Street to support an expanded loading zone and temporary pick-up/drop-off zone. Please adhere to all posted "No Parking" areas, including the barricaded intersection zones, which must remain clear at all times to allow safe emergency vehicle access.
Thank you to all the businesses and patrons who helped to make last year's Streatery trial a success.
