[ARCHIVED] Lake Street Bridge Rehabilitation Project

The Lake Street Bridge Rehabilitation Project will began on April 18, 2016. This project involves the rehabilitation of a single span plate girder bridge, including minor approach work. Currently anticipated work items include deck replacement, sidewalk replacement, railing replacement, bearing replacement, minor substructure repair, and scour protection.

LOCAL IMPACTS: On May 16, 2016, the bridge will be fully closed during construction. All vehicular, bicycle and pedestrian traffic will utilize a signed off-site detour. The vehicular and bicycle detour will use North Cayuga Street. Pedestrians will use Cayuga Street also but the Ithaca High School path along the north side of the creek will be open, too. The Ithaca Falls Trail access will also be closed during the construction.

The project completion date is October 3, 2016.
